This blog is intended to showcase the widely overlooked weirdness in Baltimore. At one point in time a friend mentioned that he wanted to publish a book entitled the Psychedelic Tour of Baltimore, this site is inspired by and dedicated to Uncle Lead. I often post others photos out of admiration. If I have posted one of your photos against your liking, please let me know and I will remove it as soon as I can. If you don't mind me posting them let me know and thank you for your amazing photos.

You In Reverse stream at VH1

Vh1 has a stream of the entire album here. This is a small consolation to the fact that Doug Martsch is in the hospital with a detached retina. The tour that was scheduled has been postponed. I had tickets to see them at the 9:30 club in DC, and now I'll have to wait.

Although it is not live built to spill, I had some fun playing video basketball aginst Doug. Try it out it's kind of fun.

The Sex Pistols inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame tonight

Tonight the Sex Pistols are being inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. They truly deserve this honor. The Pistols revolutionized music in the 70's. They gave way to the punk movement putting it in a view that it had not recieved often before. Their music is timeless. To which I offer this, their response to being asked to show up at the event.
Its good to see that after all these years they still hold true to their original values. It's also good to see that the HOF is not going to snub them for their response. Here are some tracks that I think will help comemorate the event.
The Sex Pistols - I Wanna Be Me
Sid Vicious - My Way

This Week in Indie #3

Well it turns out that it is hard to get a show together and posted on Friday. Much less St. Patricks Day. Here is the third installment of the show.

Heypenny - Parade
Band of Horses - The Funeral
Chrash - The Blanks
The Black Angels - Black Grease
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Y Control (Faint Remix)
The Mountain Goats - No Children
The Scott Farkus Affair - Professing The Composites
Mazarin - We're Already There
Grogshow - Arena Rok
Luna - Astronaut

This Week in Indie #3

This weeks effort includes probably the song top on my rotation: Parade by Heypenny. I also through in an old chart topper in No Children by the Mountain Goats.

This Week In Indie #1

I know that I have not posted in a while. This is partly because I have been unable to hear to post audio clips at shows. And I'm a bit ADD. Starting this week I am introducing a semi-weekly radio program on WebJay. I will try to find a diversity of music focusing on, but not limited to, indie music. This weeks show is up, and ready to listen to.
The Hated - Rubber Bullets
Tapes 'n Tapes - Insistor
Kings Of Leon - The Bucket
All Mighty Senators - Soul
The Meat Department - Nobody's Cool
Hudson Bell - Blood Brother
Uncle Monsterface - Lobster Building
Black Mountain - Druganaut
Suburban Kids With Biblical Names - Noodles
Dismemberment Plan - What Do You Want Me To Say (Drop Dynasty Remix)

This Week in Indie #1

This is a taste of what I have encountered this week on the web or my hard drive. Included is a band I listened to in high school - The Hated, and two live tracks, one from a Baltimore favorite - All Mighty Senators, and one from my Buddy in the Meat Department.

Check out my previous post for the "This Week In Indie" call tag.

Cuttin' Grass at the Friendly Inn

On Saturday I went out to western Howard County to see my mandolin teachers band, Cuttin' Grass. I had seen them before at bluegrass on the grass, but this was before I started taking lessons. If you are in the Baltimore area and like bluegrass, the Friendly Inn has quite a lineup. The Inn is an intimate setting and was quite comfortable. Cuttin' Grass went from full blown fiddle tunes to slower ballads with even a guest appearance or two. All in all it was a great night, and I'm looking forward to going back.
